Transfers...

Hello everyone!!! I hope you are all doing well and are enjoying the start to summer!

To start off, I have a new companion! Sister Duncan. She's sweet! We pretty much have the same personality, and we are getting along great! It;s been super fun to get to know a new sister and to introduce her to everyone. I was pretty nervous last week to get a new companion and to "lead" the area, but I was just being silly. I have seen myself grow and progress like no other over the past 6 days, and I can;t wait to see how this transfer goes!

Last week I had lobster for the first time!! (Well, I tried lobster before, but this was the full-on lobster!!!) I felt like a barbarian ripping the poor lobster to pieces and sucking the juice out of the shell (sorry...I'm making this really graphic, but I guess that's how the Mainer's eat it....) but it was quite the experience! I'm pretty sure I gagged a few times when I shoved my finger in it's shell to push out the meat and when I saw it's eyes, but it was really good!! I'm definitely being a missionary and trying new things!! I even had clams. Those tasted like sand, but it was still good! haha

So crazy thing, as I have sitting here writing you all, Sister Duncan's mom found our that we are related!! We're related Through the Pierce line: Elder Isaac Washington Pierce. That's crazy!!! no wonder we get along so well, we're family!!! Sweet. That just made my day!! haha

I love you all and keep P.U.S.H.ing!

The Crazy-eyed Lobster and Clams...yes I ate every bit of that plate. Let's just say I didn't want to eat anything until lunch the next day....Lobster's are really filling!

Time to eat the lobster! (we also wore aprons...true Maine style!)

Crazy cat...this stray cat was locked in our apartment building and wouldn't let us out the door last night. I've never been so afraid of a cat in my life! I've never experienced a cat hiss and growl before. Seriously it sounded like a dog growling. It was freaky!! Also, I'm pretty sure it has rabies so that made it all worse. haha

Training Accomplished

Well, I'm proud to say that I'm no longer a Greenie!!!! :) Today is the start of a new transfer, so I can officially say that! :) It's crazy how quickly time has gone by, but I still have a long ways to go. Every once in a while I think of how long 18 months really is. It's a SUPER long time!!! Sometimes I think, "what the heck did I get myself into?" but then, I just think of all of the many people I will get to meet and who I'll get to share my testimony with and how I'll have the opportunity to bring others unto Christ. What a blessing that is! There are more and more people that we have met that just have cruddy lives and I am so grateful for the gospel and what a blessing it has been in my life.

We met this one guy, Eddie, earlier this week and shared a #becausehelives pass-a-long card with him and invited him to watch it. Since we walk around Biddeford so much, we ended up passing his apartment like 3 days in a row and asked him if he watched the video yet. each time we asked he said no, so the last time we saw him, we told him to pull it up on his phone while we were standing there to make sure he watched it. Talk about being persistent, right? haha I don't think he believed us when we said the video was literally just 2 min long, because once he finished watching it, he said, "that wasn't that long at all!". haha we then ended up having a mini lesson with him on his porch about how God and Christ are always there for us and how we have a prophet on the earth today. We also left him with a Book of Mormon and marked multiple scriptures in it. I told him that he would actually have to read it now to find all of the scriptures we marked. haha He was excited to read it. We also met with him a couple of days later and brought him a Bible so that he could cross reference the bok of Mormon to the Bible and vice versa. So cool! We taught him the following day.....yes...we're in Biddeford A TON! haha. He told us that "at first I wasn't really into it, I was like 'ehhh'...but now {shaking the pamphlet} I'm like yeah!" haha pretty great.

SInce we walk around Biddeford a ton, I mean ALL. THE. TIME. we know pretty much everyone. No joke. We walk around town and say hi to people across the street, in cars driving by, to people we pass on the street, to people walking by when we're stopped at a crosswalk, etc. etc. It's kind of ridiculous. But it's also pretty fun! haha I feel like I'm known over here! Which is a good thing because Sister Craig is leaving me and I'm going to have to area train my new companion starting tomorrow. I'm slightly freaking out, but it'll be fine. I might just have a few anxiety attacks, but no big deal. ha I just think it'll be fun to introduce my companion to people on the street every 5 seconds! :)

I hope you are all enjoying your start to summer since it's already June!! So crazy! I love you all and hope you have a GREAT week!!!

Keep P.U.S.H.ing!
